Perfect Weather for an Easter Egg Hunt

With the donation of 160 Easter Eggs JRS Ireland were able to send eggs out to children living in three direct provision centres in the Dublin area.  We were also able to use the remaining eggs for what has now become the annual JRS Ireland Easter Egg Hunt.

The egg hunt took place in Mountjoy Square Park at 12.30 on a gorgeous sunny Easter Sunday afternoon.  According to one mother, it was the only Easter Egg Hunt taking place in Dublin City on Easter Sunday.

The fantastic weather brought about 120 people into the park and after a scramble for the hidden chocolate eggs there was time to enjoy the face painting, creme egg and spoon races, kite making, hoola hooping, football and relay races.  The volunteers worked tirelessly to keep all the children entertained and to run off the sugar rush. The the day would not have been such a success without their help.  Families from all over the world, old and new friends of JRS and families from the local area spent a really delightful Easter Sunday afternoon together.
